A Method for Steel Beam Design

Starting in September 2016, I enrolled in courses through Simon Fraser University’s Technical Communication Certificate program. The program teaches clear and concise communication using plain language concepts, visual design, technical writing skills, and critical analysis within the documentation process.

Students embark on a documentation project during TCOM 410, the final course in the program. They are expected to find a client, create a document plan, and produce a final document.

My project is titled A Method for Steel Beam Design. I wanted to produce an educational resource for EITs. Click here to access the document, as well as other educational resources in the A Method series.

I value free educational resources. Knowledge should be accessible to those with a desire to continue learning. These values are reflected in my decision to self-produce the document and share the project for free.
